Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will Spectrum purchase only one coin or note from me, or do I need to have a large collection?

A: No purchase is too big or too small for Spectrum. We routinely purchase both individual items and large collections, expensive collectibles and world-class rarities.

Q: What if I received coins and/or currency as an inheritance and do not know how to identify the items? How will Spectrum know what I have?

A: Spectrum has dealt with all kinds of sellers, from beginning collectors to seasoned veterans. Your Spectrum expert will move as slowly or quickly through the transaction as your level of expertise and/or time commitment dictate. If you need extra time or assistance in evaluating your coins, currency or wine, we will gladly provide it.

Q: Shipping my valuables scares me. What if something is lost in the mail?

A: Spectrum receives coins and other collectibles through the mail each and every day, and we routinely ship our own inventory as well. Your Spectrum expert can provide information on the most secure way to ship your collectibles to us for evaluation and purchase. For qualifying holdings, Spectrum can even arrange to send one of our experts to meet you at your home, bank or place of business to complete the transaction.

Q: Once I accept a purchase offer from Spectrum, how long must I wait until receiving payment?

A: Payment is immediate with Spectrum--once we receive your collectibles and you accept our purchase offer, your check will be forwarded to you promptly. We can also wire funds directly to your specified account to make payment even more immediate.
